Wood Screen Doors

Wood screen doors and storm doors, built by hand in our Portland shop. Truax has made classic wood screen doors with traditional woodworking methods and premium materials since 1946, and we can install them for you too.

Built the old-fashioned way

Every door is made on-site at Truax from vertical-grain, stain-grade Douglas fir. We use the highest-quality clear fir, a true one inch thick.

  • Traditional wire screen cloth in charcoal, mill or bronze (copper-look) finishes
  • Pet Screen, a tough pet-resistant material, for homes with dogs and cats
  • Interchangeable storm and screen inserts, so one door works year-round
  • Hardware made for wood screen doors, in brass, satin nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, antique brass and black

Pick a design, or draw your own

These are some of our most popular designs. Because we make every door by hand, you can also draw your own, or send us a photo or sketch of one you like, and we’ll build it.

A wood screen door is a functional piece of art that puts the finishing touch on a home.
